Use card replacement when a virtual card must be retired and the end user needs a new card number without repeating KYC or submitting a new application. Virtual cards only.
POST /cards/CARD_ID/replace
Response
What happens:
  1. The existing card is cancelled and its status becomes terminated
  2. A new virtual card is created with a new PAN, token, and expiration date
  3. Spending limits from the old card are copied to the new card
  4. Use the new id as cardId for all subsequent operations

After replacement

1

Switch to the new cardId

Store the new id from the response. Requests against the old cardId refer to a terminated card.
2

Confirm card details

Call GET /cards/{cardId} on the new id. See Card status.
3

Set PIN

Set a PIN on the new card with Managing a card’s PIN.
4

Check programme balance

Confirm corporate spending power with GET /wallet/balance. See Fund and withdraw. Set a card limit if needed via Apply spending limits.

Physical cards

There is no replace endpoint for physical cards. To issue a new plastic card:
  1. DELETE /cards/{cardId} to terminate the old card. See Lifecycle controls.
  2. POST /cards/users/{userId}/issue with cardType physical and shippingAddress. See Virtual and physical cards.
